Christmas Morning Letter Option 1
My Dearest [Child’s Name],
What a wonderful Christmas Eve it has been! The reindeer and I have travelled beneath a sky filled with stars, over sleeping towns and twinkling cities, carrying Christmas wishes to children all around the world. Now the presents have been delivered, the reindeer are enjoying a well-earned rest, and the North Pole is growing quiet once more.
You already know, I am sure, about my Nice List. Throughout the year, my elves help me keep careful records of the kindness, courage and wonderful achievements of children everywhere. As Christmas draws near, I spend many evenings turning through its pages, reading the elves' reports beside each name and, of course, checking everything twice.
There are certain names the elves become particularly excited about, the ones that seem to glow a little brighter with every good deed and marvellous achievement. Whenever this happens, you can be certain an elf will hurry into my study to make sure I have heard the latest news.
This year, they were especially excited to tell me that [Name] [accomplishment/act of kindness], and that [Name] [accomplishment/act of kindness].
It is moments like these that make me especially proud, for they tell me something wonderful about the children behind the names.
The loveliest thing about the Nice List is that no two names shine for quite the same reason. Every name has its own story, filled with little moments and marvellous achievements that make each child wonderfully unique. And each Christmas, as I read through the List, I get to discover another chapter.
I have been especially delighted by your pages this year, and I cannot help wondering what wonderful stories and adventures will be added in the year ahead. Whatever they may be, I hope there will be plenty of laughter, kindness and moments that make you feel very proud of yourselves.
For now, the North Pole has grown quiet, and the Nice List lies open on my desk as I write to you. Your names are still shining brightly amongst all the others, a lovely reminder of all that you have achieved this year. I hope you feel every bit as proud of yourselves as I do.
With all my love and Christmas magic,

Christmas Eve Letter Option 1
My Dearest [Child’s Name],
Christmas Eve is finally here, and I wish you could see the North Pole tonight! Every window in the workshop is glowing, the courtyard is covered in fresh snow, and elves are hurrying back and forth with the very last parcels for my sleigh. There is a wonderful feeling in the air, for we all know that the moment we have been preparing for all year is almost here.
Outside, the reindeer are being fitted with their harnesses and bells. Rudolph has already inspected the front of the sleigh twice. Meanwhile, Dasher has already been caught sneaking Mrs Claus's gingerbread. You would think he'd remember what happened two Christmases ago, when he ate so much before take-off that a terrible tummy ache left him riding in the sleigh amongst the presents for half the night instead of pulling it. (Some reindeer never learn!)
I can hear the elves calling that the sleigh is almost ready, which means there is just enough time for me to write one very important letter before we leave. This one.
You see, amongst all the preparations today, the elves made certain to tell me how you [accomplishment/act of kindness]
Of course, I had already read the reports beside your name on my Nice List, but hearing the elves speak so proudly of you made me smile. It is moments like these that have earned you a very special place on my Nice List this year.
Soon I will close the workshop doors, climb aboard my sleigh and give the reindeer the signal we have all been waiting for. Then, with a jingle of bells and a great leap into the night sky, our Christmas Eve journey will begin.
There is only one thing left for you to do. Snuggle down beneath the covers, close your eyes and drift off to sleep. Remember, Christmas magic works best when little eyes are fast asleep!
And while you are dreaming, listen very carefully. Somewhere high above the rooftops, you might just hear the faintest jingle of sleigh bells growing closer.

First Christmas Letter
My Dearest [Child’s Name],
What a truly wonderful Christmas this is, for tonight, I have the joy of welcoming you as the newest addition to my Nice List. Your name now shines brightly upon its pages, glowing with a special golden light that only appears for a child’s very first Christmas.
You see, I make a point of sending a letter to every little one on their very first Christmas Eve. It is a tradition I treasure dearly, because the very beginning of a child’s Christmas journey is one of the most magical moments of all. This year, that magical moment belongs to you.
Though you are still so little, the love that surrounds you has already reached all the way to the North Pole. It twinkles like starlight, guiding my sleigh and filling the elves with cheer as they prepare for Christmas night. Your arrival has been the greatest gift your family could ever wish for, and I can already see that your life will bring joy and light to everyone around you.
[Child’s Name], as you grow, you will discover that Christmas magic is found not just in the sparkle of tinsel or the presents under the tree, but in the simple, beautiful things, a smile shared, a warm hug, or a gentle breeze. These are the treasures that make life truly magical, and I know they will shine through you always.
So, my dear [Child’s Name], may your first Christmas be filled with wonder, warmth, and love. You are wished for, dreamed of, and celebrated, and I am honoured to welcome you into the magic of Christmas.
With all my love and Christmas magic, Santa Claus
P.S. One day, when you’re ready, I hope you’ll write me a letter of your very own. Until then, I’ll be watching proudly as your story begins.
True Believer Again Letter
My Dearest [Child’s Name],
The workshop is a flurry of activity tonight. The elves are hurrying about with armfuls of toys, ribbons are being tied in neat bows, and the reindeer are stamping their hooves, eager for the journey ahead. Amongst all this busy cheer, I wanted to pause and write to you, because your name has been glowing upon my Nice List, and I have also heard you are wondering about me and the magic of Christmas.
You see, I have a very special gift. I can hear the quiet questions of every true believer. They arrive to me with the hush of night when the world grows still. And yes, [Child’s Name], I have heard your questions. That is perfectly natural. As children grow, their minds grow too, and asking questions shows what a bright and thoughtful spirit you have.
Here is something I want you to remember: Christmas magic is very real, and it grows stronger through faith and kindness. Every laugh you share, every helping hand you give, every kind word you speak. They all send sparks of light into the world that the elves collect and weave into the very fabric of Christmas. I have seen this in you, especially when you [personalised accomplishment, e.g. welcomed a new classmate and made them feel part of the group]. That kindness shone so brightly, the elves clapped with delight, and your page on the Nice List glowed with golden light.
So, whether you hear sleigh bells dancing on the night air or see the Christmas tree twinkling in the morning, remember that you are part of the magic itself. If ever you begin to doubt, just hold this close — the more you believe, and the kinder you are, the brighter the magic shines for everyone.
With all my love and Christmas magic, Santa Claus
