Christmas Morning Letter Option 1
My Dearest [Child’s Name],
Merry Christmas! What a night it has been. Last night the reindeer and I flew beneath a blanket of stars, as we soared from rooftop to rooftop. The jingling of the sleigh bells filled the sky, and as I landed at your home, I knew there was someone very special tucked up in bed, dreaming of Christmas morning and the joy it would bring.
I want to tell you about one of my most cherished Christmas traditions. Each year, when the elves have finished compiling the Nice List, they carry the great book into my study. It is a mighty tome, so heavy that five elves must lift it onto my desk. By the glow of lantern light, I turn its golden-edged pages, reading each name slowly and carefully, checking them twice.
When I came upon your name, the page shimmered with golden light, and there beside it was written a most wonderful note: [accomplishment/act of kindness] I am so very proud of you for such a marvellous accomplishment! The elves clapped their hands and cheered when they added the news to my records, for it showed the strength and sparkle of character that makes your name shine so brightly on the Nice List.
For many years now, I have made it my tradition to write to the children whose names glow with the brightest light on my Nice List. This letter is my way of telling you how proud I am, and how much your kindness and goodness mean to the world.
As you unwrap your presents today, remember that they are only part of the magic. The true gift lies in the kindness you show, the laughter you share, and the way you brighten the lives of those around you. These are the things that make your name glow so brightly upon the Nice List, and they are treasures far greater than anything tied with ribbon.
So hold on tight to the wonder of today and know that you are celebrated, cherished, and watched over with pride from the North Pole.

My Dearest [Children’s Names],
Merry Christmas! What a night it has been. The reindeer and I flew beneath a blanket of stars, soaring from rooftop to rooftop as the jingling of the sleigh bells filled the sky. As I landed at your home, I knew there were some very special children tucked up in bed, dreaming of Christmas morning and all the joy it would bring.

It is a mighty tome, so heavy that several elves must lift it onto my desk. By the glow of lantern light, I turn its golden-edged pages, reading each name slowly and carefully, checking them twice.
When I came upon your names, the page shimmered with golden light. Next to each one, the elves had written wonderful notes of your kindness and marvellous accomplishments. I read how you [sibling 1’s accomplishment/act of kindness] and how you [sibling 2’s accomplishment/act of kindness]. Oh, how proud I am of you both! The elves clapped their hands and cheered when they added the news to my records, for it showed the kindness, effort, and sparkle of character that make your names shine so brightly on the Nice List.

Christmas Eve Letter Option 1
My Dearest [Child’s Name],
At long last, the most magical night of the year has arrived, Christmas Eve! The North Pole is buzzing with excitement as the elves finish tying ribbons and loading parcels into my sleigh. The bells are polished, the lists checked (twice, of course!), and everything sparkles with anticipation.
The reindeer are eager for tonight’s journey. They’ve been training since April, racing across fields and practising soft, steady landings so as not to wake anyone when we touch down on rooftops. Dasher has mastered the quietest hooves, while Dancer still tries to add a flourish (though I remind him this is not the time for twirls!).
Mrs Claus has also played her part, packing a basket full of healthy treats for the reindeer and me. Still, I must confess, I do love a sweet midnight snack. If you could leave out a biscuit or two with a glass of milk, it would make me very happy indeed (and I promise to share a crumb with the reindeer).
Before I close, I must tell you the reason I wanted to write tonight. I simply couldn’t wait until morning to share some very special news — your name has been written in shining golden letters on my Nice List this year! When I turned the pages and saw it glowing so brightly, I smiled from ear to ear. The elves clapped and cheered, even doing a little jig around the workshop tables. You have brought so much kindness and joy this year, and I could not be prouder of you.
So now it is time to snuggle down into bed and let the magic of Christmas wrap around you. Dream sweet dreams, for tonight I will be on my way, guided by the stars and carried by the jingling of sleigh bells.

First Christmas Letter
My Dearest [Child’s Name],
What a truly wonderful Christmas this is, for tonight, I have the joy of welcoming you as the newest addition to my Nice List. Your name now shines brightly upon its pages, glowing with a special golden light that only appears for a child’s very first Christmas.
You see, I make a point of sending a letter to every little one on their very first Christmas Eve. It is a tradition I treasure dearly, because the very beginning of a child’s Christmas journey is one of the most magical moments of all. This year, that magical moment belongs to you.
Though you are still so little, the love that surrounds you has already reached all the way to the North Pole. It twinkles like starlight, guiding my sleigh and filling the elves with cheer as they prepare for Christmas night. Your arrival has been the greatest gift your family could ever wish for, and I can already see that your life will bring joy and light to everyone around you.
[Child’s Name], as you grow, you will discover that Christmas magic is found not just in the sparkle of tinsel or the presents under the tree, but in the simple, beautiful things, a smile shared, a warm hug, or a gentle breeze. These are the treasures that make life truly magical, and I know they will shine through you always.
So, my dear [Child’s Name], may your first Christmas be filled with wonder, warmth, and love. You are wished for, dreamed of, and celebrated, and I am honoured to welcome you into the magic of Christmas.
With all my love and Christmas magic, Santa Claus
P.S. One day, when you’re ready, I hope you’ll write me a letter of your very own. Until then, I’ll be watching proudly as your story begins.
True Believer Again Letter
My Dearest [Child’s Name],
The workshop is a flurry of activity tonight. The elves are hurrying about with armfuls of toys, ribbons are being tied in neat bows, and the reindeer are stamping their hooves, eager for the journey ahead. Amongst all this busy cheer, I wanted to pause and write to you, because your name has been glowing upon my Nice List, and I have also heard you are wondering about me and the magic of Christmas.
You see, I have a very special gift. I can hear the quiet questions of every true believer. They arrive to me with the hush of night when the world grows still. And yes, [Child’s Name], I have heard your questions. That is perfectly natural. As children grow, their minds grow too, and asking questions shows what a bright and thoughtful spirit you have.
Here is something I want you to remember: Christmas magic is very real, and it grows stronger through faith and kindness. Every laugh you share, every helping hand you give, every kind word you speak. They all send sparks of light into the world that the elves collect and weave into the very fabric of Christmas. I have seen this in you, especially when you [personalised accomplishment, e.g. welcomed a new classmate and made them feel part of the group]. That kindness shone so brightly, the elves clapped with delight, and your page on the Nice List glowed with golden light.
So, whether you hear sleigh bells dancing on the night air or see the Christmas tree twinkling in the morning, remember that you are part of the magic itself. If ever you begin to doubt, just hold this close — the more you believe, and the kinder you are, the brighter the magic shines for everyone.
With all my love and Christmas magic, Santa Claus
